Ned Western

Ned Western is an experienced data scientist currently working at the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) since March 2023. Prior to this role, Ned held positions at Gelion, where responsibilities included SQL database management, custom dashboard development, and machine learning for performance forecasting, and at SunPower Corporation as an R&D Process Development Engineer, focusing on disruptive solar cell technology. Earlier experience includes modeling photovoltaic plant performance at First Solar and a postdoctoral fellowship at UNSW, where Ned contributed to advancements in silicon photovoltaic devices. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Silicon photovoltaics and a Bachelor of Engineering in Photovoltaics and Solar Energy, both from UNSW.
