Philippe Babin

Philippe Babin has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and industries. Philippe began their career at C-Mac Microcirtuits as a Process Engineer, where they supervised the laser departments and provided technical support and training to production employees. Philippe then moved up to become the Director of Manufacturing, overseeing production and process engineering, managing R&D projects, and implementing process controls.

Philippe later joined Mediatrix Telecom Inc as the R&D Director, leading a team of engineers and team leaders. Philippe'sresponsibilities included defining R&D goals and strategies, reengineering business management processes, managing projects, and directing technological and architectural activities. Philippe then took on the role of Director of Product Line Management, where they revamped the product portfolio, defined product strategy and roadmap, sought business opportunities, and improved product margins.

Following their time at Mediatrix Telecom, Philippe served as the General Manager and VP Worldwide Sales at Media5 Corporation. Philippe then worked as the Canada Account Manager at KEMP Technologies before founding their own company, Babin Strategies Inc., where they served as President and provided marketing and sales assistance to small and medium-sized businesses.

Currently, Philippe is the CEO of AEPONYX Inc., a company specializing in WDM-PON and optical switching technologies. Philippe leads the company in designing and bringing to market solutions for fiber optic access to the cloud, utilizing MEMS-based Silicon Photonics.

Philippe Babin attended École Antoine Bernard from 1982 to 1987, where they completed their high school education. Following this, from 1989 to 1993, they attended Université de Sherbrooke and earned a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Software Engineering. Later, from 1999 to 2003, Philippe pursued a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) at Université de Sherbrooke.
