Karl Ritchie

Applied Data Scientist at Aerial

Karl Ritchie has worked in a variety of roles since 2013. Karl began their career as a Lecturer at Collège Lionel-Groulx, followed by a .NET Developer Internship at Service Canada. In 2014, they took on the role of Software Team Lead (Extracurricular) at ETS Team S.O.N.I.A. AUV, where they maintained the IT infrastructure and wrote driver binding code for an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU). In 2015, Karl worked as a Camera Software Developer Intern at Teledyne DALSA, developing automated software tests for imaging sensors and evaluating sensor performance. Karl then worked as a Software Developer at Teledyne DALSA, using the Nvidia Jetson TK1 platform to build a prototype of CSI compliant imaging device and developing a user interface using QT and C++. In 2016, Karl was an R&D Data Engineer at PatSnap, working on multiple Data Engineering projects deployed on both local environment and AWS Cloud environment. Karl then worked as a Research Assistant (Part-Time) at École de technologie supérieure, assisting a Ph.D. student in developing a software capable of communicating with a wearable EMG device for human-robot movement coordination. Finally, Karl has been at Aerial Technologies since 2018, working as an Applied Data Scientist and Software Developer.

Karl Ritchie is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Building Engineering at Concordia University. Prior to this, they obtained a Master of Engineering in Systems Engineering from \u00c9cole de technologie sup\u00e9rieure between 2017 and 2020. Karl also holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Automated Manufacturing Engineering from \u00c9cole de technologie sup\u00e9rieure, which they obtained between 2011 and 2015. Before that, they attended Coll\u00e8ge Lionel-Groulx, where they studied Industrial Computer Science from 2007 to 2010.
