Jonathan Cotton is currently the Chief of Staff at Aeries Software. Jonathan has held this position since August 2015. Prior to that, they were with Sony Pictures Entertainment for three years, from October 2012 to August 2015, where they served as Coordinator - Content Protection. In this role, Jonathan managed protection schemes for all feature and television content, ensuring protection of content from theft across a title’s lifecycle – from production through distribution. Jonathan also conducted risk assessments for a wide variety of film and television content, managed outside vendor relations, coordinated services provided and tracked quality of services, evaluated monthly, quarterly, and yearly finances on cost of protection for various business units within the studio, managed manual and automated content protection enforcement operations, managed activation of fingerprints for content and similar user generated content sites with filtering capabilities, managed preparation and analysis of statistical information related to all protected content, tracked and analyzed online infringement activity, communicated and liaised with potential vendors to provide information regarding services.
Before Sony Pictures Entertainment, Jonathan worked as a Paralegal at Schonbrun DeSimone Selpow Harris & Hoffman, LLP from June 2007 to October 2012.
Jonathan Cotton attended Loyola Marymount University, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in both Political Science and Spanish.
