Marek Counts

Marek Counts has a diverse work experience, starting with their current role as Director of Engineering at Aerospike, Inc. Marek joined the company in November 2021 and is responsible for leading the engineering team. Prior to this, Marek worked as a Lead Cloud Engineer at the same company from February 2021 to November 2021.

Before joining Aerospike, Marek held various roles at SUSE. From June 2019 to February 2021, they worked as a Technical Lead, where they enabled the team to achieve goals in supporting Kubernetes clusters on SLES. Marek also led GPU and Machine Learning initiatives within SUSE CaaSP Kubernetes clusters. From August 2018 to 2019, Marek served as a Senior Engineer, focusing on distributed engineering and container management.

Prior to SUSE, Marek worked at QSR Automations as a Senior Technical Team Lead from March 2017 to August 2018, and as a Software Engineer from September 2013 to September 2017. In these roles, they led technical teams and contributed to software development projects.

Marek's career started at Connolly, Inc. in June 2012, where they worked as a Software Engineer until September 2013. Marek'sresponsibilities included developing custom applications in a Microsoft .NET environment to assist the audit staff.

Overall, Marek Counts has gained extensive experience in engineering leadership, cloud computing, distributed systems, and software development throughout their career.

Marek Counts attended Berea College from 2005 to 2010, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Technology Science.
