Ankit Sharma

Ankit Sharma, PE has a diverse and extensive work experience. Ankit started their career at General Dynamics as a Structural Design Engineer, where they played a key role in managing structural projects and conducting finite element analysis. Ankit then joined the Center for International Research in Environmental Science as a Research Assistant, contributing to climate change research. Ankit later joined Engineers Without Borders as part of the Leadership Team, demonstrating their leadership skills. Ankit then joined BURN Manufacturing Co. as a Field Coordinator, where they conducted market studies and focus groups to improve charcoal cookstoves. Ankit also worked at Custom Solar as a System Designer and Sales representative, and at Namasté Solar as a Utility/Commercial Solar Designer, where they also co-owned the company. Currently, Ankit is employed at AES Clean Energy, initially working as a Senior Solar Project Engineer and then being promoted to Engineering Manager/Technical Project Lead. Their versatile expertise and progressive roles in the renewable energy sector showcase their professionalism and dedication.

Ankit Sharma, PE holds a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder, which was obtained during the period of 2010-2012. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Mechanics at The Johns Hopkins University from 2004 to 2008. Ankit also obtained a Residential and Commercial PV Certificate from Solar Energy International (SEI) in 2015. Ankit has additional certifications, including being a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Colorado since October 2021, a NABCEP Certified PV Installation Professional since 2016, and completing a course on Engineering for Developing Communities at the University of Colorado in 2012.
