Ben Saunders

Ben Saunders is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in solar development and environmental compliance. Currently serving as Senior Director of Development at The AES Corporation since January 2021, Ben has held various roles including Senior Manager of Solar Development, focusing on PJM initiatives. Prior experience includes Senior Permitting Project Manager at Dominion, where responsibilities encompassed coordinating permitting approvals for electric transmission and substation projects, and a background in auditing and environmental consulting at Aegis Environmental, Inc. and the City of Richmond. Ben holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Studies from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from The University of the South.
