Gordon Alter

Gordon Alter is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in the energy sector, currently serving as Chief Counsel, Finance at The AES Corporation since January 2021, after holding the position of Vice President and Senior Counsel for AES Clean Energy. Previously, Gordon held the role of Vice President and Senior Counsel at sPower, overseeing operations in renewable energy projects, and served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel at Safari Energy, LLC. His career also includes key legal positions at Cleantech Law Partners, Ram Power, Corp., Abatis Capital, and Allco Renewable Energy Group Limited. With a foundational experience as an Equity Partner at Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP and a strong educational background, including a JD from New York University School of Law and a BA in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania, Gordon has a proven track record in renewable energy law and finance.
