Ryan Belanger is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in energy and corporate law. Currently serving as Chief Counsel for Development and previously holding positions as Associate General Counsel and Senior Counsel at The AES Corporation since May 2018, Belanger has also held the role of Senior Legal Counsel at Aspect Energy from August 2015 to May 2018. Prior to this, Belanger worked as an Associate Attorney in the Infrastructure, Energy, Resources, and Projects Finance Group at Hogan Lovells and as an Associate Attorney focusing on Energy & Natural Resources at Steptoe & Johnson PLLC. Earlier experience includes roles at Lathrop & Gage, LLP as an Associate Attorney in Corporate Energy, as well as positions as a Landman, legal intern, and judicial clerk. Belanger earned a J.D. in Energy, Environment, and Natural Resources Law from Texas A&M University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Chemistry from Texas Christian University.
