Tim Doherty

Tim Doherty is an accomplished legal professional currently serving as Associate General Counsel at The AES Corporation since November 2021, following a tenure as Senior Counsel in the same company. Prior experience includes roles as an Associate at McGuireWoods LLP from September 2018 to November 2021, and at Latham & Watkins from October 2014 to August 2018, where Tim also held a position as a Summer Associate in 2013. Tim's early career involved internships with the Iraqi Refugee Assistance Project, the Iraqi Commercial Office, the National U.S.-Arab Chamber of Commerce, and the U.S. State Department. Tim holds a Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School (2011-2014) and a degree in Middle East Regional Studies with a focus on International Relations and Development from Georgetown University (2007-2011).
