John Votaw is a seasoned professional in ship to ship (STS) lightering operations, currently serving as the Lightering Operations Manager at AET since 2022. Prior to this role, Votaw spent 12 years as a Mooring Master, guiding the operations of tankers in STS lightering. With a background that includes positions as Assistant Manager for Marine Traffic at Formosa Plastics Corporation and various deck officer roles on US Flag vessels, Votaw brings extensive expertise to the maritime industry. In addition, Votaw served as an Associate Pastor at multiple churches from 2001 to 2007, leading various ministries and community outreach programs. Votaw earned a Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation from Texas A&M University at Galveston in 1984.
