Sandra Whight is a senior leader in emergency management and strategy, with extensive experience spanning several organizations. They served as a Ranger with the NSW Parks and Wildlife Service from 1997 to 2004 and held various roles at AFAC, including A/Director of National Projects and Innovation in 2023. Sandra was also the General Manager at the Bureau of Meteorology from 2020 to 2022 and is currently the Chairperson of the Tasmanian State Fire Management Council, providing independent advice on vegetation fire management. Additionally, they contribute as a Board Member at Natural Hazards Research Australia since 2021 and previously at Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC from 2020 to 2021. Sandra obtained an Honours degree from The University of Sydney between 1991 and 1994.
