AFC Wimbledon Foundation was formed in 2013 after a recognition that the ground-breaking creation, establishment and success of AFC Wimbledon Football Club was built on the energy and effort of its supporters. A founding principle of the football club was to be embedded in our community and to demonstrate that through targeted community-based activities for local people. For the first 10 years, we delivered this through a Community Football scheme and other initiatives addressing issues around disability and education. Following the football club's promotion to the English Football League in 2011 work was started to transform these initiatives into a community charity within the structure of the @efl-trust 

AFC Wimbledon Foundation aims to fulfil our local community's ever-changing needs by delivering targeted community-based activities. Our core projects focus on alleviating isolation, increasing employment opportunities, improving mental & physical health, strengthening aspirations, and creating greater community cohesion. Most of our outreach work uses the power of sport and exercise to achieve these goals, however, we also team up with local partners to provide education, employability and health-focused outreach work.
