Matt Woods has a diverse background in the digital marketing, gaming, and esports industries. Matt is the CEO and Co-Founder of AFK Group, a global digital marketing and talent management company specializing in the esports and gaming industry. Within AFK Group, Matt founded AFK Creators, an international talent management agency representing over 150 content creators and streamers. Alongside their role at AFK Group, Matt is also an Official Member of the Rolling Stone Culture Council, where they share their knowledge and opinions on various entertainment topics. Prior to AFK Group, Matt worked as a Marketing and Growth Strategy Advisor for Lowkey, a gaming platform that was later acquired by Niantic. Matt also has experience as a YouTube Partner, where they created educational content and built a network of content creators. Matt's work history also includes roles as a streamer on Twitch, a Strategy Advisor for Camelot.ai, a Professional Player for MnM Gaming's League of Legends team, a Marketing and Growth Manager for Hiperpool, and a Marketing and PR Manager for a Rocket Internet start-up. Matt began their career as a Technology Consultant on Capita's Lead The Way Graduate Scheme but ultimately decided to pursue their passions in the gaming and marketing industries.

Matt Woods completed their Bachelor's degree in History, Literature, and Culture of the Americas at the University of Warwick from 2011 to 2015. In 2013, they spent a year abroad at the University of Toronto studying History, Anthropology, Modern Espionage, and Spanish. Matt then pursued their Master of Science degree in Social Anthropology at the University of Oxford from 2016 to 2017. Prior to their university education, they attended Haberdashers' Boys' School from 2004 to 2011.
