Luke Genung

Luke Genung is a skilled data engineer and analytics professional with extensive experience in developing data products and analytics platforms. Currently a Staff Data Engineer at Afresh since March 2025, Luke focuses on enabling ML-powered demand forecasting and margin optimization. Previously, as a Staff Analytics Engineer at Check, Luke played a key role in establishing analytics, data engineering, and data architecture. At Sidecar Health, Luke co-launched the business analytics department and constructed the entire analytics layer using Snowflake, dbt, and Tableau. Luke was also a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer at Teradata, where contributions were made to the business insights team, leading product and finance analytics. Early career experience includes positions as a Business Intelligence Analyst at LRW and a Research Assistant at UC Santa Barbara. Luke holds a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from UC Santa Barbara and has furthered professional development through training at Product School.
