AfriBao is a South African startup enablement and business development organisation that helps entrepreneurs turn their ideas into real, functioning businesses, and keeps supporting them as they grow.

Named from Afri (Africa as home and mission) and Bao (the Baobab, Africa’s tree of life), AfriBao embodies strength, resilience, and community. The tagline says it plainly: Building Better Businesses, Together.

The problem we solve: Most founders start alone. Existing support programmes require traction, equity, or fit a narrow mould. Early-stage entrepreneurs, the people who need the most help, are left without a clear path forward. AfriBao closes that gap, because we want to see more young people choosing entrepreneurship as a viable career path, rather than joining the unemployment statistics.

How we help: We meet founders wherever they are. Our core programmes include the Startup Enablement Programme (6–12 weeks, idea to functioning business), the Digital Visibility Programme (brand, website, and digital presence), and the Business Blueprint (a personalised report giving founders an honest picture of where they stand and what to do next). A Funding Readiness Programme is coming soon.

What makes us different: We start by getting to know the founder, not just the idea. We’re hands-on, paid, and accessible.

Who we’re for: Aspiring entrepreneurs, first-time founders, side hustlers, and early-stage businesses across South Africa.
