Launched at the Global Citizen Festival on 24 September 2022, at the historic Black Star Square in Accra, Ghana - the targeted $Billion Fund seeks to create and facilitate opportunities for investment to impact economic development and socio-economic evolution, through infrastructure development, trade optimisation, education and awareness, skills development and knowledge enrichment, and policy advocacy and implementation.

There are 10 key focus areas - what we refer to as our 'verticals', are:
1. Intra-Africa Trade optimisation through the AfCFTA
2. Environmental Sustainability (Climate Change) & reversal of climate poverty
3. Women & Youth inclusion (WYi)
4. Digitalisation & Technology
5. Healthcare (Including mental health)
6. Entrepreneurship
7. Education, Creative Culture & Sport
8. African Industrialisation of 'AfricanMade' sectors
9. Agriculture/Food and Food security 
10. Infrastructure Development
