In Democratic Republic of the Congo, Africell is affectionately known as “Le reseau du peuple” – or “the people's network”. Having launched services in DRC in 2012, we have steadily grown our subscriber base and coverage. We are now joint market leader in the biggest provinces, including the capital Kinshasa, a booming metropolis which is home to almost 20 million people. Our geographical footprint in DRC is always expanding and in 2021 we are due to launch in three significant new provinces.

Our nickname comes from our reputation for honest and friendly customer care. We understand what customers in the DRC want and need from a mobile provider, and we give it to them in the form of fast, reliable and reasonably priced data, voice, SMS and mobile money services.

Africell DRC has 500+ skilled employees who are at the forefront of developing the DRC’s telecoms and broader technology sectors. Africell DRC is part of Africell Group. Africell Group is a US-owned and UK-headquartered mobile network operator with over 12 million subscribers and 1000+ employees across Africa.
