Afro Charities, Inc. cares for the AFRO American Newspapers' extensive archives, and produces dynamic artistic and educational programs to connect people of all ages and backgrounds with this history. 

In February 2025, the organization broke ground on a new $16M research center for the archives, headquartered in Old West Baltimore. Once complete in late 2026, the campus will provide robust public access to the collections for the first time in the AFRO’s 133-year history.
