Gedion Onyango

Gedion Onyango is a seasoned academic and researcher with extensive experience in governance systems, policy design, and gender relations. Currently serving as a Research Fellow at LSE Firoz Lalji Institute for Africa since June 2021 and a Senior Research Associate at the University of Johannesburg since March 2024, Gedion also holds the position of Senior Research Fellow at Afrobarometer. Previously, Gedion was a Senior Lecturer at the University of Nairobi and a Lecturer at the same institution, specializing in Political Science. Earlier contributions include a role as Research Fellow and Project Administrator at the Center for Research and Technology Development, focusing on policy development. Gedion earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Public Policy and Administration from the University of the Western Cape between 2014 and 2016.
