Grainne Black possesses extensive experience in the energy sector, currently serving as a Principal and Manager at AFRY since September 2023. Previously, Grainne held various positions at the Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU) from July 2016 to August 2023, including Wholesale Electricity Markets Manager, Senior Analyst, and Analyst. Before that, Grainne worked at GE Power as a Lead Technologist from June 2011 to July 2016. Academic credentials include a PhD in Combustion from the National University of Ireland, Galway, and a postdoctoral role in Hydrogen at the Institute for Energy, Joint Research Centre, European Commission. Grainne also holds an M.Sc. in Science Communication from Dublin City University and a B.Sc. in Chemistry from University College Dublin.
