Virpi Leinonen

Virpi Leinonen is currently the Technology Manager for Mining & Metals at AFRY, where they oversee various technological initiatives. Previously, they worked as a Research and Development Engineer at Outokumpu from 2008 to 2016, focusing on stainless steel smelter processes and production efficiency. Virpi also gained project management experience at SFTec and served as a Project Researcher and PhD student at the University of Oulu, where they engaged in research and project planning. They hold a Master’s Degree in Process Engineering from Oulun yliopisto and have studied Nutrition Sciences at the University of Eastern Finland.
