The American Federation of Teachers New Jersey (AFTNJ) is a federation of unions representing 30,000 education workers in prekindergarten to 12 school districts, private, religious and charter schools.

AFTNJ is the largest higher education union in the state, with locals representing full-time and part-time faculty, all levels of administrative, professional and supervisory staff, graduate workers and postdoctoral researchers at public four-year colleges and universities as well as state community colleges.
