In the 1960s, Al Gerstel was working as a credit manager in Manhattan,
extending credit to apparel companies. He saw how hard it could be to get some
companies to pay. Collection agents were constantly calling to offer their help. But Al thought he could do a better job himself. So, he decided to step into their shoes and see.

In 1972, Al launched A.G. Adjustments (AGA). He quickly earned a reputation for
outstanding client service that lasts to this day. When Al unexpectedly passed away in 1990, his two sons committed to carrying on their father’s legacy. Having grown up in the business stamping envelopes as kids, they would now take the reins and lead AGA into a new era of growth as one of the nation’s top collection agencies.

Today, AGA serves over 3,000 clients including some of the largest names
in industries ranging from food & beverage, hardware & construction, software & technology to distribution to medical & healthcare, media & advertising, transportation & logistic. Our very first client is still a client today. And AGA is continuing to grow and set industry standards for everything from innovative technologies to white-glove service.
