Richard Murphy

Managing Director Sustainable Growth at American Gas Association

Richard Murphy has a diverse and extensive work experience in the energy industry. Richard started their career at Colonial Gas Company in 1982, where they held various management positions, including the Vice President of Sales & Marketing. Following this, they joined Boston Gas Company as the Director of Marketing. In 2000, they joined KeySpan Energy Delivery as the Director of Sales for New England, and later moved on to KeySpan as the Vice President of Sales & Marketing for New England. Richard then joined KeySpan Energy as the Vice President of Marketing, and eventually became the Senior Vice President of Energy Solutions Services at National Grid. Richard Murphy also worked as an Independent Contractor, serving as a Senior Consultant to the American Gas Association. Richard is currently the Managing Director of Sustainable Growth at the American Gas Association.

Richard Murphy attended Arlington Catholic High from 1972 to 1976, where they did not earn a degree or have a specified field of study. Richard then went on to receive a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Massachusetts Lowell from 1976 to 1980. Later on, from 1987 to 1993, Richard completed their education by obtaining a Masters in Business Administration with a specialization in Marketing from the D'Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University.
