Michelle C. has extensive work experience in research program management and administration. Michelle is currently the Director of Grant Process Operations at the North Carolina Biotechnology Center. Before that, they held various roles at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, including Research Program Manager for UNC Health/UNC School of Medicine, Training Program Manager for the Carolina Population Center, Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research, Research Administrator for the Department of Surgery, and Managing Director for the UNC Nutrition Obesity Research Center, UNC Gillings School of Public Health.

Michelle C. completed the Public Health Leadership Certificate Program from the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health in 2022. Michelle holds a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Nonprofit Management from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, which they completed in 2003. In 2001, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies, with a minor in Political Science, also from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Michelle C. has additional certifications including the UNC School of Medicine - Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Certificate Program in 2021, the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education in 2021, the Certified Research Administrator (CRA) certification from the Research Administrators Certification Council (RACC) in 2019, and the Certified Pre-Award Research Administrator (CPRA) certification from the Research Administrators Certification Council (RACC) in 2018.
