Daniel Bennett has worked in the field of robotics for over a decade. In 2008, they began as a Graduate Research Assistant at Case Western Reserve University. Two years later, they became a Graduate Research Assistant at Vanderbilt University, where they developed multigrasp robotic prosthetic hands for people with transradial amputations. This included solid modeling of the hand and the development and implementation of its control system. In 2016, they joined Agility Robotics as a Principal Software Engineer and Lead Engineer.
Daniel Bennett attended Case Western Reserve University from 2005 to 2009, where they attained a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Daniel then returned to Case Western Reserve University from 2009 to 2010, where they earned a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Finally, they attended Vanderbilt University from 2010 to 2015, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering.
