Peter Ivie

Peter Ivie has over 20 years of work experience, starting in 2002 and continuing until the present. Peter has held various software engineering roles in different companies.

At Agrippa, Peter currently works as a Senior Software Engineer starting from December 2022.

Previously, at Meta from October 2021 to January 2023, Peter worked as a Software Engineer. Peter played a crucial role in prioritizing record keeping for their privacy-focused team and led the design and implementation of a system for processing and recording events. Peter also implemented a system for monitoring system settings to ensure data sharing compliance with third parties.

Prior to that, at Owl Labs from February 2021 to October 2021, Peter served as a Senior Full-Stack Engineer. Peter led an initiative to make the products ready for enterprise customers and automated developer onboarding steps, significantly reducing onboarding time. Peter also automated the deployment of microservices in AWS using Docker.

Before joining Owl Labs, at Impact Capital Funds from June 2020 to June 2021, Peter worked as a Software Engineer. Peter authored policies for SOC 2 audit compliance and built a real-time pre-qualification system for student loan refinancing.

From November 2018 to October 2020, at VidAngel, Peter held the role of Product Engineer. Peter added various payment integrations and created a payment library supporting multiple apps.

Peter also worked at Listing Mirror as an Innovative Lead Developer from May 2018 to November 2018. There, they created a web/mobile app for warehouse inventory using Flutter and implemented end-to-end testing for Django deployment.

At GeneSys Foundation from November 2002 to November 2018, Peter worked as a Software Engineer. Peter worked on data engineering and implemented relationship visualizations for users.

During their time at the University of Notre Dame from August 2013 to May 2018, Peter worked as a Graduate Student Researcher. Peter created software for reproducible workflow management and published several peer-reviewed papers. Peter also developed a query mechanism for time-varying schema-free data, resulting in significant storage reduction. Additionally, they taught programming languages and Matlab to students.

At AlertGPS from May 2009 to November 2012, Peter worked as a Full Stack Developer. Peter rebuilt the GPS tracking system and designed automated communication with hardware.

Lastly, at SCO vs IBM from March 2005 to April 2007, Peter worked as a Software Litigation Consultant.

Peter Ivie received a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Brigham Young University, which they attended from 1995 to 2002. Peter then pursued further education and obtained a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where they studied from 2009 to 2013. Later, Peter completed their academic journey by earning a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, a program they enrolled in from 2013 to 2018.

In addition to their formal education, Peter obtained several certifications to enhance their skills in various areas. These certifications include "C# and .NET Essential Training," "Learning Amazon Web Services (AWS) for Developers," and "Learning C#," all of which they achieved from LinkedIn in December 2022. Peter also earned a certification in the "STRATEGIC TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT PROGRAM" from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, although the specific month and year of completion are unavailable.
