Evan Axthelm

Evan Axthelm is a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer at Ahaus Tool & Engineering since November 2023, following a seven-year tenure at Photon Automation Inc as a Mechanical Engineer, where responsibilities included the design, fabrication, assembly, installation, and service of advanced automation equipment, particularly in laser marking and welding. Prior to this role, Evan worked as a Mechanical Technician at Photon Automation, assembling automated laser systems for the automotive sector, and as a Fabricator at Research Machining Services, fabricating and machining projects for educational purposes. An internship at Nucor Steel Kankakee involved designing a robotic cutting torch to enhance safety and efficiency in processing scrap steel. Evan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, earned in 2016, and participated in the Bike and Build program in 2015, cycling over 3,600 miles to support affordable housing initiatives.
