Gary Button

Gary Button has accumulated a diverse range of work experience over the years. Gary is currently serving as the Head of Engineering at Ahauz, a position they have held since 2022.

Prior to Ahauz, Gary worked at Forward Partners, where they gradually progressed to become a Lead Software Engineer. In this role, they led agile technical teams, collaborated with Product to drive Lean delivery, and managed complex software delivery projects in various industries such as Fintech, E-Commerce, Entertainment, and AI. Gary also gained experience in Venture Capital, utilizing their innovative tech background to support early-stage start-ups.

Before their time at Forward Partners, Gary worked at rehab as a Senior Developer. There, they played a pivotal role in improving a failing project, transforming it into a reliable Agile-run project that consistently delivered on time. Gary demonstrated expertise in Python development and adhered to best practices.

Gary's work history also includes positions at Pancentric Digital, WME Australia, Alan Blunden & Company Ltd, GForces, and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). At Pancentric Digital, they served as a Python Developer and was involved in building a high-level quoting platform and handling large projects. During their time at WME Australia, Gary was a Full Stack Developer responsible for front and backend development using the PHP framework Symfony. Gary also gained experience in web deployment, SEO practices, and mentoring junior team members. At Alan Blunden & Company Ltd, they worked as a Web Developer, contributing to the creation of a trading platform for a nationwide insurance broker. At GForces, they began as a Junior Web Developer and eventually took on the development of fully-fledged automotive websites. Lastly, Gary gained consulting experience at the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), where they provided support to businesses and job seekers.

Gary Button attended South East Essex College from 2005 to 2007, where they obtained a BND degree in IT Practitioners. Following that, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Multimedia Technology & Design at the University of Kent from 2007 to 2010. In addition to their academic education, Gary also attained certifications in the field. In 2012, they obtained the FIT certification from the Chartered Insurance Institute, and in 2018, they became a Certified ScrumMaster through the Scrum Alliance.
