Stiaan Maree

Stiaan Maree serves as the Chief Technology Officer at AICA, focusing on product data cleansing and enrichment through AI since May 2021. Stiaan has been with The Shoprite Group of Companies since March 2016, where responsibilities include leading the Data Science Community of Practice and overseeing projects in machine learning, data lake migration, and chatbot development. As the founder of Light Bulb Research, Stiaan offers consulting services to Media24 and Shoprite. Earlier experiences include software development consulting at Media24, data engineering, and full stack engineering roles at various companies, along with a co-founding role at SA Breakaway. Stiaan holds multiple degrees, including a Master of Science in Data Science from the University of Cape Town, alongside qualifications in management information systems and marketing communication.
