Mike Tipping is a Professor of Machine Learning at the University of Bath, where they currently lead research in the Department of Computer Science. With over 20 years of experience, they previously held roles such as Principal Research Scientist at Babylon Health and Director of Research at Vector Anomaly Ltd. Mike is known for developing pioneering data modeling techniques, including the "probabilistic PCA" framework and the "relevance vector machine" predictive model. They also contributed to the creation of the "Drivatar" AI system for Microsoft's "Forza Motorsport" and established a globally recognized Data Science Master's course. Mike earned a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics & Computer Science from Aston University.
