Summer Young

Summer Young is currently a Manager at the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), where they have been since 2025. Prior to this role, Summer served as the Technical Manager for Professional Ethics at AICPA from 2015 to 2025, investigating allegations related to professional standards and ensuring compliance with the Codes of Professional Conduct. They held various positions in auditing, including Director at Cherry Bekaert in 2025, and Audit Manager at both Cherry Bekaert LLP and MCMILLAN, PATE & COMPANY between 2011 and 2015 and 2004 and 2008, respectively. Summer also contributed to state auditing as an Assistant State Auditor for the North Carolina Office of the State Auditor from 2003 to 2004. They hold a Master’s degree in Accounting from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Catawba College.
