Quentin Cheng

Deep Learning | Computer Vision Engineer at AICRETE

Quentin Cheng has a diverse work experience in the field of robotics and computer vision. Quentin most recently worked at AICRETE as a Computer Vision | Robotics Engineer starting in December 2022. Prior to that, they were a Robotic Software Engineer at EAVision Technologies from July 2021 to October 2022. At EAVision Technologies, Quentin led the development of a computer vision solution for detecting oil palm tree centers and successfully deployed it in plantations across Southeast Asia. Quentin also developed a deep learning stack and image-processing library for Alicloud backend. Quentin managed a team member for labeling, training, tuning, and releasing DL models as well as improving field surveying and orthomosaic stitching processes for increased accuracy.

Quentin's previous experience includes working as a Graduate Student Researcher at Carnegie Mellon University Robotics Institute from May 2020 to December 2020. Quentin also served as a Lead Graduate Teaching Assistant at the Machine Learning Department at CMU from January 2020 to August 2020. Prior to their academic roles, Quentin worked at Maxxis International as an Automation Systems Design Engineer from September 2017 to June 2019 and at Asia Neo Tech as an Assistant Automation Design Engineer from September 2016 to February 2017.

Quentin Cheng completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with Honors at the Georgia Institute of Technology from 2012 to 2016. Quentin then pursued further education at Carnegie Mellon University, where they recently obtained a Master of Science in Robotic Systems Development (MRSD) from the School of Computer Science, Robotics Institute in May 2021.
