Arne Schmidt is a Senior Data Scientist at Aignostics since September 2023, focusing on AI models for histopathological images to aid in cancer detection and classification. Previously, Arne completed a Ph.D. at Universidad de Granada from September 2020 to August 2023, working on AI applications for medical image classification within the European CLARIFY project. Prior experience includes roles as an AI Software Engineer at TomTom, where responsibilities encompassed deep learning applications such as semantic segmentation and traffic sign classification, and as a software engineer at Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute HHI, developing 360° camera technologies. Arne also interned at Astro- und Feinwerktechnik GmbH, conducting noise analysis for satellite IMU sensors, and served as a teacher at Tesla-Schule, preparing robotics workshops for students. Arne holds a Master’s degree in Mathematics from Technische Universität Berlin and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Freie Universität Berlin.
