Founded in 1936 by Peter Black, American Iron & Metal began as a small business on Notre-Dame Street East in Montreal, Quebec. The family-owned company has since grown into one of the most innovative recycling companies in the world. 

Its operations include the buying, processing, and selling of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, as well as a retail buying division. With 800 trucks, 700 trailers, and 2,600 railcars, AIM provides customers with top-quality services, while operating under strict observance of the environment.
