Fernando Pérez

Fernando Pérez is an Associate Professor in Statistics and Data Science at UC Berkeley and a Faculty Scientist at LBNL, where they have contributed to data science, software development, applied mathematics, numerical algorithms, and scientific computing since 2014. They co-founded AIMATX, 2i2c.org, and NumFOCUS, and are known as the creator of IPython and a co-founder of Jupyter. Fernando earned a BSc in Physics from Universidad de Antioquia and a PhD in Physics from the University of Colorado Boulder.
