AIP Capital Management offers low-risk hedge funds that use technology to generate predictable, positive returns in all market conditions. Investing in a hedge fund is an additional way to diversify your portfolio and generate returns that are uncorrelated to equity market returns. 

Our funds exploit opportunities in real-time with no reliance on subjective forecasting. We do it using technology: Stock-exchange data feeds directly into our fundamental models, which constantly track and monitor values. Based on the information from the models, our proprietary algorithm trading system implements trades with no delay and at minimal cost. We can target and benefit from share price discrepancies as low as 1% of a share’s value. Calculated annually, gains made from such trades can offer superior risk adjusted returns.   

The landscape is changing 

All Hedge funds have historically been incorrectly perceived as the same, and as risky investments. Fortunately, Hedge funds in South Africa were recently drawn within the ambit of the Collective Investment Schemes Control Act (CISCA) and are thus regulated. Also, the Association for Savings and Investment South Africa (ASISA) is in the process of categorising hedge funds by their investment strategies. These categories will assist investors to understand how hedge funds work and assess the risk associated with the varying classes. Hedge funds are available to both institutional and retail investors.
