Michael Walsh

Michael Walsh, CFA, is an experienced finance professional currently serving as the Head of Strategy & Consulting at Aiperion since February 2020. In this role, Michael collaborates with institutional investors to design and implement sophisticated portfolio and risk management solutions through Aiperion's advanced modeling framework. Prior to this, Michael held significant positions including Executive Director & Chief Investment Officer at the Laborers' Annuity and Benefit Fund of Chicago, where oversight of a substantial pension fund was a key responsibility, and Chief Investment Officer at the Municipal Employees' Annuity and Benefit Fund of Chicago, managing a $5.4 billion portfolio. Michael's earlier career at the City of Chicago encompassed roles such as Deputy City Treasurer and Assistant City Treasurer, where responsibilities included debt management strategies for a cumulative $15 billion of city debt. Michael holds an MBA in Finance & Entrepreneurship from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
