Ian Johnston

Ian has been with AIQUEOUS since January of 2017. In this position he assists in water-energy nexus projects and participates in various stages of an implementation of either the WaterWays or POWERPATH platforms.

Ian graduated from Occidental College with a B.A. in Urban and Environmental Policy and has recently completed a M.S. in Community and Regional Planning at the University of Texas at Austin, with a concentratio in Environmental Planning and Integrated Watershed Studies. Just prior to joining AIQUEOUS Ian held a graduate research position with the City of Austin’s Watershed Protection Department (WPD) where he worked with WPD staff to develop a pilot project which would test an alternative service delivery model for stormwater management. As part of the internship he conducted a survey of 1,200 homes within the Waller Creek Watershed and provided results and recommendations to the WPD. Before this, Ian served as an AmeriCorps member, first in Utah where he was involved with habitat restoration work , and then in Austin, Texas, where he assisted in the construction / renovation of green and affordable housing.
