Maya Black

Client Development Representative at AIQUEOUS

Maya holds a B.S. in Environmental Science and a minor in Sustainability from the University of Wisconsin Madison. She first became passionate about the environment in 2016 after she went on a 50-day canoe trip through the Northwest Territories and Nunavut in Canada. This trip made her want to dedicate her professional career to protecting and sustaining the environment. Her past experience is primarily in healthcare sustainability, with two different healthcare organizations in Minneapolis, MN and Madison, WI. As the Sustainability Intern, she compiled and analyzed energy, waste and food data for multiple hospitals. She completed a research and proposal presentation project on cafeteria disposable food service ware products that accommodated six different municipalities that all manage waste differently. Maya also has research experience in a Climate Change Ecology lab where she studied the effect of habitat-fragmentation on the nutritional condition of black-capped chickadees.
