Jonathan Wellons is an accomplished Engineering Manager with extensive experience in leading data-focused teams across prominent tech companies. Currently serving at Airbnb since May 2025, Jonathan previously led the Data Platform team at LaunchDarkly, overseeing the development of significant data ingestion and experimentation platforms. Between July 2013 and March 2023, Jonathan contributed to Google as a Tech Lead and Engineering Manager, where responsibilities included founding and managing teams that built advanced data processing pipelines and data warehouses for Shopping Analytics, as well as developing merchant insights tools. Jonathan's early career included a role as a Computer Scientist at the National Security Agency, where complex data analysis capabilities were developed. Jonathan holds a PhD in Computer Science from Vanderbilt University and a BA in Computer Science from Grinnell College.
