Lei Wei

Lei Wei has extensive experience in the field of computer security and cryptography, having held positions at several prominent organizations. Lei began as a Research Assistant at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where research focused on computer and network security. Following that, internships at Microsoft Research and SRI International involved work on encrypted data and steganography. Lei's career progressed at Apple, where leadership as Engineering Manager included overseeing the development of an end-to-end encryption framework for iCloud services. At Google, Lei served as the Security Engineering Lead, managing security features for the Google Cloud Identity Platform. As Head of Core Trust and Security Infra at Meta Fintech, leadership involved building infrastructure for Novi's custodial wallet on the Diem blockchain. Currently, Lei functions as Principal Engineer/Director at Airbnb, guiding the technical strategy for the Trust engineering organization. Lei holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
