Deepayan Punj

Deepayan Punj is a design engineer with extensive experience in the aerospace sector, currently serving as Design Engineer II - Structures at NewSpace Research and Technologies since March 2021. Prior to this role, Deepayan worked as a Structures Engineer at Leap Aeronautics, contributing to the design of a heavy lift cargo UAV and a fully-electric VTOL aircraft. Experience also includes a design internship at GLOINNT Solutions Pvt. Ltd., where Deepayan led the design of a high-range e-bike prototype and garnered customer appreciation. Earlier in the career path, Deepayan undertook internships at VMT Spinning and Threads and HMT Tractors Ltd., gaining insights into mechanical engineering in the textile and manufacturing sectors. Deepayan holds a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Aerospace from the University of Nottingham, complemented by a Bachelor of Engineering in the same field from the same institution. Educational background also includes completion of high school education with a focus on science and middle school studies.
