Ducu Borcea

Ducu Borcea has extensive experience in the field of RF systems engineering. Ducu is currently working as a Principal RF Systems Engineer at Airbus U.S. Space & Defense, Inc. since October 2021. Prior to this, they held the position of Sr. RF Comms/Systems Engineer at Airbus US Space and Defense from March 2021 to November 2021.

Ducu also worked at AIRBUS ONEWEB SATELLITES as a Payload/RF Test Manager from March 2019 to March 2021. In this role, they were responsible for managing the RF and antenna test areas of manufacturing and supporting the improvement of RF test manufacturing processes for the Final Assembly Line. Ducu also coordinated with various departments for the implementation of design and process changes.

Before that, Ducu served as a Project Manager for the Satellite Antenna Supply Chain at Airbus-OneWeb Satellites from June 2017 to March 2019. Ducu acted as the principal point of contact and coordinated interfaces between suppliers, system design engineering, quality, finance, manufacturing, and executive management teams.

Prior to joining Airbus-OneWeb Satellites, Ducu worked as a Senior System Engineer at Thales InFlyt Experience from November 2014 to June 2017. Ducu was responsible for hardware system design engineering, satellite antenna subsystem development, and active participation in industry standards technical working groups.

Ducu's earlier experience includes working as a Senior Systems Engineer at Rockwell Collins from November 2004 to November 2014, where they served as lead hardware system design engineer for Inmarsat Ka-band Global Express broadband connectivity pursuit. Ducu was involved in the development of the Global Express System Specification Document for an aeronautical connectivity terminal.

Ducu also worked at Andrew Corporation as a Lead Project Engineer from October 2001 to November 2004. In this role, Ducu served as a technical transition liaison between the design team and contract manufacturing services, overseeing all aspects of daily manufacturing issues for Telecom High Power Amplifiers.

Ducu began their career at Ericsson as a Senior Staff Hardware Systems Design Engineer from March 1997 to October 2001. Ducu was responsible for the RF hardware system design of a dual standard/triple-band mobile phone.

Their early experience includes working as a Senior RF Design Engineer at Motorola Mobility from June 1991 to March 1997, where they participated in the design of a 900 MHz receiver and coordinated project planning and scheduling for the development of a new product.

Throughout their career, Ducu Borcea has demonstrated expertise in RF systems engineering, coordination with multiple stakeholders, project management, and involvement in industry standards technical working groups.

Ducu Borcea obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Florida Atlantic University. Ducu attended this institution from 1988 to 1992.
