Ryan Wartena is a seasoned professional in developing and launching technology companies focused on renewable energy solutions. Currently, they serve as the Director of Research, Developments, & Decarbonization at Planet Electric, Chief Executive Officer at Southern Beams Builds, and Executive Director at ElectroPlants, among other roles. Ryan's previous experience includes being the Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder of Geli, where they led initiatives in software-based energy services. Additionally, Ryan has held various advisory and leadership positions while contributing to advancements in energy storage and microbattery technologies during post-doctoral research at institutions like MIT and the Naval Research Laboratory. They hold a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and have a strong background in integrated energy systems and renewable energy strategies.
