AIReal yoga is the first form of aerial yoga teacher training recognized by the Yoga Alliance. AIReal Yoga™ is a brand of yoga using an aerial hammock as a prop to help make yoga accessible and safe as an instrument for physical and mental wellness. Founded by thought leader and innovator Carmen Curtis.

Carmen has created methods and curriculums using the hammock for human performance, recovery, and community.

AIReal Yoga is for any Body at any level that wants to connect the mind and body to achieve high performance and healing. Designed to calm and recalibrate the body's stress response, the AlReal Yoga hammock is used to create a weightless environment where the nervous system can shift from "fight or flight" into deep "rest and digest." By stimulating the vagus nerve and enhancing HRV, you'll experience measurable improvements in stress resilience, mood, and overall wellbeing.

Unlike traditional yoga, the aerial hammock reduces gravitational compression on the spine and joints, allowing the body to release deep-seated tension without strain. This physical release supports increased mobility and functional longevity-essential for maintaining peak performance as we age. Mentally and neurologically, AIReal Yoga is designed to activate the vagus nerve and increase heart rate variability (HRV), a key biomarker of stress resilience and overall health. The combination of mindful movement and suspension encourages the brain to shift into alpha and theta wave states-associated with creativity, clarity, and enhanced cognitive function. These brain states also improve neuroplasticity, enabling greater adaptability, focus, and emotional regulation.

We offer classes, teacher trainings, studio licensing, installations online and in person.
