Mauritz Andersson

Co-Founder and CTO at AirForestry

Mauritz Andersson has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Mauritz is currently the Co-Founder and CTO of AirForestry, a position they have held since March 2020. Prior to this, from October 2014 to March 2021, they worked as a Researcher at the Division of Electricity, Uppsala University. During their time there, they focused on research and outreach related to the electrification of aviation and served as the academic coordinator for the ELISE Vinnova project.

From April 2018 to October 2020, Mauritz worked as a Senior Principal Engineer, Optics at Veoneer. In this role, they developed Lidar sensors using current and future technologies and conducted scouting assessments of technology partners. Before that, they worked as an Optical Engineer at Autoliv from November 2017 to April 2018.

Mauritz also held the position of Senior Optical Engineer at FOTONIC from October 2016 to October 2017. Prior to that, from January 2015 to September 2016, they worked as a Physicist and Lead R&D at Beamocular AB.

Before transitioning into industry roles, Mauritz spent a significant amount of time in academia. From 2006 to 2014, they worked as a Researcher and Assistant Professor at KTH. During this time, they focused on exploring the physics of light-matter interactions and applications of controlling light propagation. Mauritz also built a small research team and collaborated with PhD and postdoc researchers.

Prior to their time at KTH, Mauritz worked as a Researcher and PostDoc Marie Curie Fellow at the University of Heidelberg from 2002 to 2005. Mauritz completed their PhD in Physics at Uppsala University from 1997 to 2001.

Mauritz Andersson pursued their education at Uppsala University, starting from 1992 to 1997, where they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Physics. Mauritz then continued their academic journey at the same university, graduating in 2001 with a PhD in Physics.
