Ilan Azaria

R&D Geospatial Remote Sensing Scientist at Airobotics

Ilan Azaria has over 10 years of experience in the field of geospatial remote sensing and GIS. Ilan started their career at the Soil Erosion Research Station, where they served as a GIS and Remote Sensing consultant, GIS Analyst, Spatial Data Analyst, and Cartographer. At this position, they worked on various projects such as risk assessment and monitoring agricultural fields, developing national databases, and creating spatial data analysis tools.

In 2010, Ilan became the Owner and Geospatial Project Manager at SensinGIS, where they carried out forest management and forest fire hazard monitoring using geospatial tools, photogrammetry, remote sensing, and GIS. Ilan also conducted risk assessment and monitoring of agricultural fields in the Jezreel Valley using remote sensing techniques. Additionally, they co-developed the National Database of subsurface field drainage systems and the spatial decision support system (SDSS) based on groundwater flow modeling.

In 2017, Ilan joined Airobotics as an R&D Geospatial Remote Sensing Scientist, where they currently work.

Ilan Azaria earned a Bachelor's Degree in Geographic Information Science, Remote Sensing Cartography & Physical Geography from Aix-Marseille University in the years 2002 to 2005. Later, they pursued a Master's Degree in Hyperspectral Remote Sensing, spectroscopy, Geostatistics, and Spatial Decision Support System from Tel Aviv University between 2007 and 2010.
