Marcus Sweeney

Marcus Sweeney has a diverse work experience in risk management and financial systems. Marcus most recently worked at AirPlus International from 2017 to the present, where they held various director roles including Director Risk & Resilience and Director Risk Management & External Fraud Prevention. Prior to that, they worked at Barclays and Barclaycard, holding roles such as Vice President, Group Chief Controls Office, Senior Technology & Cyber Risk Partner, and IT Risk and Control Manager. Marcus also has experience at PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Risk and Control Manager and Manager. Marcus has a strong background in risk management and financial systems and has been involved in projects to implement new risk frameworks and systems.

Marcus Sweeney obtained an Executive MBA in Business Administration and Management, General Management from the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management from 2020 to 2022. Marcus also completed a degree in Business Systems from Monash University from 2000 to 2002. Marcus Sweeney has additional certifications including the Certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM) from GARP FRM Program obtained in 2021, the Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge from the Cloud Security Alliance obtained in 2017, the Goethe-Certificate C1 from the Goethe Institute obtained in 2013, and the CISSP - Certified Information System Security Professional from the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium, Inc. obtained in 2008.
